Working with three other digital wellbeing coaches from the U.S.A, France and Spain and with Dr Anastasia Dedyukhina, founder of Consciously Digital, we have produced a paper designed specifically for businesses and organisations entitled ‘Why a healthy digital culture matters’.
We think that this guide will be a valuable resource for managers, particularly as the World Health Organisation (WHO) defines ‘burnout’ as an occupational phenomenon resulting from ‘chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed’. Many organisations have implemented health and wellbeing programs for their employees, but too often the role that the digital culture of the organisation plays can be overlooked or not well understood.
The paper is aimed to help managers create an environment where their human resources can work creatively, productively, and safely with technology. It challenges leaders in organisations to achieve a more sustainable balance between the strengths and needs of their employees and the technology they use; one that supports their physical and mental health, rather than undermines it. A healthy digital culture is not something that happens by accident, it needs to be part of business as usual in much the same way that quality is. Unfortunately, the speed of digital transformation resulting from the pandemic means that this hasn’t always been possible.
The short version of ‘Why a healthy digital culture matters’ paper produced by the co-authors is free and available here. There is also a longer version with additional input from Dr Anastasia Dedyukhina available by visiting Consciously Digital.
